What we're hearing
Need to know:

As Libyan government forces shifted their attacks west, trying to regain control of a key coastal road from rebel forces, the International Criminal Court began a war crimes investigation and U.S. President Barack Obama issued his most forceful statement yet on the crisis, ordering Muammar Gaddafi to leave.

German prosecutors said that the suspect in the killing of two U.S. servicemen at Frankfurt airport wanted to exact revenge for U.S. actions in Afghanistan, and was apparently motivated by a video he saw on YouTube that showed American troops committing atrocities.

Want to know:

Why hasn't Syria been rocked by protests? A popular president, fear of the security service, and government measures to reduce the cost of basic goods, reports the BBC.

On the other side of the world, organized gangs in Mexico are stealing oil and other fuel, creating an illegal fuel market worth $2-4 billion per year.

Dull but important:

China announced its military spending would rise 12.7 percent this year, back in the double digits after growth slowed in 2010.

Just because:
A studio that meets Hollywood's standards for safety and technology is being built in Mumbai, the home of Bollywood. Will the country's new capacity to make big-budget blockbusters hurt India's independent filmmakers?
Wacky:

Wacky, but mostly sad. Struck by foot-and-mouth disease and running out of anaesthesia, South Korean has been burying pigs alive. You, too, can watch and be haunted by their screams. Thanks, YouTube.
